Zero-Waste: A Quick Guide to Sustainable Fashion

Zero waste is focused on preventing waste; it is focused on the redesign and ensures that all the product is re-used. ย Therefore, a lot of our garments will feature interesting style lines/panelling as we aim to be able to use up material remnants/ sections which wouldnโ€™t be used before. Itโ€™s all about repurposing and innovating what is in front of you.

As you can see from some of our patterns we ensure that everything can piece together as closely as possible and includes a lot of rectangles. This is because we want to use up as much area of our material as possible. We also add panelling details when we use remnant materialsto ensure that we have as little wastage as possible.

Why would Fast Fashion not implement zero waste?

A fast-fashion or larger retailer would not follow this process as it adds in time to productionโ€ฆ and time is money to the big dogs. However, our motives are surrounding the environment and looking after the planet rather than being a capitalist brand. a variety of different sizing and shaping added into materials will also create a mass amount of wastage. As well as overproduction.

We are always thinking of new ways to repurpose our scrap-materials or offcuts that we can eliminate having any wastage from our company. We are always researching and exploring new ways to reduce our carbon footprint. follow our journey on Instagram.
